Great quote

This has to be my all time favorite quote and I just wanted to share it with everyone. I had heard it a long time ago, but then it was featured in the beautiful movie "Akeelah and The Bee". If you haven't seen that movie, RENT IT NOW!

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us most.
We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and famous?’
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And when we let our light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others."

~Marianne Williamson, American author and lecturer

Shawn McDonald Concert

Last night was sooooo much fun! My favorite Christian artist, Shawn McDonald was in town last night. Since I was a finalist in his music video contest, his awesome road manager, Kirk, reserved special seats for us and invited us to hang with Shawn after the concert on his tour bus!

I was excited to use the night to play around more with my new camera and lenses and all the cool lighting that goes along with concerts. Check out our night below!

SuperChic[k] is coming to town too! Woo hoo! I love them too! "One Girl Revolution" has always been my theme song.

Our special V.I.P. seats! ha!

Before the show.

Alli Rogers was the opening act. OH MY GOSH, she has the voice of an angel and was the most humble singer I've ever seen. Her music was soooo amazing. Check her out here!

My mom and I smiling with the opening act, Alli Rogers.

This was a cute little girl that during the show, she kept stealing her mom's SLR camera and running up to the front to grab a picture of Shawn. My friends kept joking during the show, "There's Scarlett when she was 10!" Then we ran into her after we got off the tour bus, and I just had to get a picture with my "Mini Me" also known as Danielle. :-)

The other side of the camera: Part 2

A few weeks ago when I modeled for the night photo shoot, my photographer friend, Tim Co., stole my video camera to document the whole night and capture the fun. Here's the promo video I put together from it all. It was a little weird editing a whole video with me as the focus, but we wanted to show off how haute and super talented the community of photographer's are in the Orlando Pictage User Group!

It's about 10 minutes, so sit back, relax and grab some popcorn!

Dressing Up

Working with so many talented photographers, I've become inspired to try out photography too since it is so closely related to the art of cinematography. Last week, I broke down and bought a Canon 30D and some fun lenses to play around with.

From a wedding, one of my favorite shots I always love is the "dress" shot as it hangs there waiting for the bride to put it on. To me, I've always seen the dress as a magic wand that transforms an ordinary girl into a princess for a day as she walks down the isle to her prince to live happily ever after. Since I don't have a wedding gown yet, I pulled out an old white prom dress to experiment with. Here are some shots I caught just as the sun was setting behind my porch.

Destination Wedding/// NYC on New Year's Eve

I'm excited to announce the booking of a unique wedding for Julie and Robert in New York City on New Year's Eve. Thanks too for the referral from the amazingly talented Jason Groupp. I'm excited to get the chance to shoot with Jason again and to create an awesome video for the couple in the incredibly beautiful city. I "heart" NYC!

Above is a picture of their gorgeous cathedral the ceremony will be held in. Then we will head over to historic Chelsea for the reception to welcome in the new year!!

The other side of the camera

Last night, I felt like a bride on her wedding day with all her paparazzi.

My photographer friend, Tim, asked me to go Orlando to model for a Pictage User Group meeting and test shoot. When I was in middle school, my mom put me in local modeling classes, so I thought it would be fun to go live it up now a decade later. It was so much fun hanging with so many oh so talented photographers in the Central Florida area and I look forward to being back on the other side of the camera shooting weddings with them in the near future!

Here are some of my favorite shots from the night! (Be sure to check out their stuff if you are looking for some awesome wedding photographers to capture your day!)

    Crazy In Love

Bobby & January were such a fun couple to shoot for! It was an action-packed wedding where Bobby was serenaded by his bride as she danced down the isle to her groom. Before the ceremony even got started, January took control of my camera and used the flipscreen to check her make up and remind her self how HOT she looked for her big day! I've taken this and now started it as a tradition in the bridal prep segment for each new bride. Great idea January!

Enjoy their highlight intro to their movie!
