Manchester Who's Who

What an honor! This week in the mail I received a personal letter from the Editor in Chief of Manchester Who's Who Registry informing me I was selected to be featured in the upcoming edition of Who's Who Among Executive and Professional Women Honors Edition.

As Ms. Gonzalez continues:

"The 2006/2007 edition of the registry will include biographies of our country's most accomplished women. Recognition of this kind is an honor shared by thousands of executive and professional women throughout America each year. Inclusion is considered by many as the single highest mark of achievement. On behalf of the Managing Director, we wish you continued success."

I don't know how they found me, or if some special angel out there nominated me, but how exciting to be selected. Thank you Lord for that special blessing making my day!

Central Florida Bridal Show

For those brides in the central Florida area, be sure to visit my booth at the upcoming "Happily Ever After Bridal and Fashion Show" on Sunday, July 30. It starts at 1p.m. and will be held at the Downtown Disney Beuna Vista Palace. Mark your calendar! I look forward to meeting you!

You can find more information and buy tickets ahead of time here.

Thank you for thank you cards

This is why I feel so blessed that God allows me to do what I do.

In the mail today I received the sweetest card from the mother of the bride who I did the tribute video for. Yeah, email is great, but there's something about a handwritten card that always touches your heart.

"Dear Scarlett,
Words could never express our gratitude for all you did for Angie's wedding. You helped to make something that we will all cherish forever and we thank you so much. Our family is going through the most difficult time in our lives and yet God has blessed us through people who have reached out to us-- people like you. God bless you!

Sincerely,
Andy DeVoe and Family"

In The Arms Of The Angel

A month ago, I got an email from a bride who brought me to tears. She explained that not only she needed a videographer for her upcoming wedding, but that her wedding was going to be bittersweet because she lost her dad and brother in law in a plane accident a month before, and she was barely able to go on with the wedding. "All I ever wanted was to have my daddy walk me down the isle," she wrote. At that instance my eyes watered up at the thought of being in her position and not having my dad there to do the same whenever my day comes. It made me instantly want to go hug my dad and give thanks that he is still with me.

Not only did I have the privilege of filming her wedding, I also created a beautiful bridal tribute video for her dad and brother in law so that she could have a keepsake of their spirits there with her. If you haven't already, I would love for you to view the video at captivating-studios.com/angiebridal.html. God was so good in providing the most beautiful shots, and I definitely believe it was my best work ever. Here are the sweet words that followed from the bride:

"Scarlett,

I watched the movie and thought you did a wonderful job. Instantly tears streamed down my face. I wanted to tell you that my mom and a few of my sisters have seen the video you made and they think it is amazing. Each of them had a break down watching it but they all talk about how good you did. Thank you for doing that, it has been comforting to see pictures of my dad and Steele, and you really did do a good job.

Thanks again,
Angie"

It's time like this I feel so honored to use the gifts God has given me to make a difference in the lives of others.

Enjoy!

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! To go along with the launch of captivating-studios.com, I decided to jump on the band wagon of other wedding videographers and photographers out there with their cool blogs and MySpace pages. This will be a great way to keep you updated on newsworthy happenings with Captivating Studios. I'm excited to also use this as a tool to stay connected with you, so let me know if are interested in trading links.

God has been so good in growing my business over the past year. It's always scary to leave the security of the corporate world, but I took that leap of faith as He was calling me to change directions and follow Him down a new path for my career. What started as a freelance graphic design business, then branched out into wedding videography (which is the last thing I ever imagined myself doing, but I've discovered I absolutely LOVE doing! Maybe it's just because I love love. ha!). With the two businesses rapidly growing in the past few months, I decided it was time to merge them under one umbrella and name. This is how Captivating Studios was born.

God planted the name in my heart for a few different reasons. 1. My favorite book is Captivating by Staci and John Elderedge. 2. What bride doesn't want to look captivating on her wedding day? 3. What business doesn't want the design of their marketing material to hold an audience captive?

And with a new name comes a new redesigned website. If you haven't yet, I invite you to look around the new site, check out my videos, view my designs, and just have fun! (If anything doesn't work right for you, please don't hesitate to let me know so I can look into it.) The extensive gallery of my videos and design projects is in the works as we speak, but I have a few sneak peaks live on the site for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks for checking out my blog! Be sure to leave a comment and post your pinpoint on the map to let me know you were here! And of course, check back soon for more updates on the way...

God bless,
Scarlett
